Morsekey is a remote control for your Mac. This page explains what we collect on this website and in the Morsekey apps, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we don't sell anything, and we can't read the commands you send to your Mac.
Questions or requests: rohith@morsekey.app.
This website and the waitlist
- When you join the waitlist we store your email address, which form you used, and the time. Nothing else: no IP address, no browser details.
- We use your email only to tell you when Morsekey is ready. We don't sell it, share it, or add it to other lists.
- The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or ad trackers.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to serve pages and to limit how often one address can sign up. Error logs for the sign-up form are kept for up to 3 days and don't include email addresses.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when you open the page.
The Morsekey apps
The Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch apps aren't released yet. When they are, this is how they handle your data:
- Your commands stay on your devices. Messages between your phone and your Mac are end-to-end encrypted. Our relay passes them along without being able to read them.
- Account. You sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple account ID and, if you choose to share it, your email address.
- What our server knows. Which devices belong to your account, whether your Mac is online, and the data needed to send you push notifications through Apple. It never has the keys to your messages.
- Chat. If you use the built-in chat, your conversation is sent through our server to our AI provider (Anthropic) so the model can answer. The app tells you this before you start. We meter usage per account but don't keep chat transcripts on our server.
- AI apps (optional). If you turn on access for apps like Claude or ChatGPT, our server joins your account as a device for those requests. That means it handles the commands those apps run and their results, unlike the end-to-end encrypted phone-to-Mac messages above. It's off until you turn it on in the Mac app.
- Activity log. The log of what ran on your Mac is stored on your Mac and synced to your phone, encrypted end to end.

Changes
We'll update this page when anything changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data we already have, we'll email the people affected first.
